The discrimination against gay students in their schools and colleges is deep-rooted within society. ![]() ![]() Legally, no institution can stop students identifying as LGBT from attending their school based on their sexual orientation. It is important to understand that gay students have as much of a right to study in educational institutes as their straight counterparts. The trauma of having to face all the struggles a cis-gender kid faces in a school environment, combined with the added trauma of being discriminated against for your sexual preference, can be daunting for kids in high school. This discrimination is often so harsh that LGBTQ students often leave their educational careers unfulfilled.
